So with 14 weeks to go until I take on 2000km of the GB Divide, it's time to spend all day on a bike. With just over 13 hours of daylight in April it was always going to be a long day.
This ride was planned last week but a break in the frozen starts to the morning was needed, it was only 1 degrees when I set off and around 5 degrees when I finished but it reached over 13 degrees and was a lovely day.
That wasn't the only ride of the week as I wanted to back it up with rides before and after the epic ride to see if the legs still functioned, they did thankfully. I spent most of the week on the road bike, new wheels and great weather was too tempting but ill be back on gravel next week!
I finished the week with a quick morning ride, trying to ride 100km as quick as I could and seeing how far I could ride in 3.5 hours of moving time.. the answers to those questions below
3.5 hours moving time, 4 hours and 7 minutes total time.
30.5kph average speed
100km in 3 hours 53 minutes total time (including stoppages)
A great fun ride on the road bike. Also had my first covid jab Sunday so fingers crossed I'm fine after that to put in a big shift of training.
